What customers say?

“ Ate here while staying at CS. Fast and friendly service, though the tables could have been cleaner. Location is central, just a couple of minutes from A&M. Sandwich and tacos were both fairly good, but the sizes tend to be on the smaller side. Fries are a must have, fresh and crisp. Pricing is reasonable. ”

“ It’s like a combination of my two fav fast foods. The sandwich tastes like Urban Bird sandwich and the Kale Salad is almost as good as Chick-fil-A’s. They both taste so good. The bread of the sandwich is so spongy and buttery. The seasoning of that salad is spot-on. I think it’s got some mint in it which provides some kick and makes the whole thing interesting and refreshing. But both are slightly too salty for me. I’ll still give it a 8.8/10. It’s in the top 10 on my US restaurant list for now. ”

“ We ordered crispy chicken burger and fries and chicken tenders. Food was good. But it seems a little salty according to my taste bud. ”

“ Really good! In fact, it’s a contender for my favorite fried chicken in town. The only undecided winner so far is Mess Waffles. The Cookshack has a different vibe and feels more like a lunch or dinner spot, while Mess is the perfect breakfast place. Alright, who am I reviewing again? Right. The Cookshack has some great options, and my wife and I went for the Chicken & Waffles. I chose the hottest seasoning they had—pretty sure it was ghost pepper—and yeah, it was spicy but didn’t make me miserable. There was a lot of food, and it definitely filled us up. My wife got mac n cheese with hers and really enjoyed every bite. The cashier was nice and attentive. The atmosphere is great for a lunch or dinner date. Plus, they have large booths, which we really appreciate. ”

“ This was our first time eating here. We were in town for the weekend and found this spot on Google. The restaurant wasn't busy when we arrived, so there was plenty of seating. You order over the counter, then grab your table. The staff was friendly and answered my wife's questions with a smile. That's always a plus. I ordered Chicken & Waffles, my wife ordered a Kale Salad(she's Vegan) and Dragon Fries, my son wanted Chicken Tenders w/Mac & Cheese and my daughter just wanted fries. The food arrived quickly and looked very tasty. Portions were good sized. My plate was pretty good, I especially liked how the Waffles were cooked. They tasted great as did the chicken. Everything else we ordered was pretty good too. The Dragon Fries definitely had a kick to them but not overbearing. The restaurant itself was clean and well kept. The tables were bussed quickly which is always good. If you have children, this is a definitely a family oriented restaurant. Parking definitely isn't an issue either, more than enough spots. We'd definitely come back. There was some other items I saw that sounded pretty good. If you're hungry and in the area, The Cookshack wint let you down. ”

“ Went for the first time tonight for a birthday celebration. Chase and all the staff were super friendly, great advice on food selections, and kept everything clean. I haven’t eaten Mac and cheese in a long while, but the Sleazy Chicken was fantastic! Definitely stop by! Well worth it! ”
